“Great cottage, great location.” My husband, myself, our daughter and 6 year old grandson stayed at this lovely cottage for 2 weeks in July/August . From the moment we walked through the door it felt like home. It is a beautiful place in a quiet location but close to Ventnor and easy to reach other places on the island. It has a lovely garden and barbecue and inside has been lovingly restored. The beds were very comfortable and the house is very spacious and light with beautiful furnishings and curtains. We didn't get to meet the owner because we were out when she called but she did phone us to make sure that everything was alright and also left an amazing welcome pack! I can't think of any negatives about the cottage, it was everything that was described. Would definitely return to this cottage. If you want a cream tea try Chessell potteries, got to be the best on the island! _______________________________________________________________________ "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place" We stayed in Rock Cottage for a week in early June (Me, My Wife and 2 boys, 3.5yrs and 1.5yrs) and even though the weather wasn't our friend we loved it and had a great time. Eleanor greeted us once we'd settled in and the location is super if you have a car and we found it a great base for travelling out to the many family orientated attractions on the IoW. The property and gardens themselves are excellent and the renovations that have been carried out on the property have resulted in a stunning place to stay that is good for families or couples alike. The kitchen has everything required and wifi and Freeview were also provided. In addition the children wooden cabin (to call it a Wendy House doesn't do it justice) in the garden was a smash hit with the children. The BBQ area is great (we did manage to use it) and it felt a comfortable and homely place to stay. In the area there is a great pub that is less that 2 mins walk away with views of the sea (you can also see the sea from the house), some great walks, St Catherines Lighthouse, local shops and you have Ventnor and Steephill Cove just up the road. We've only stayed in one similar place of this quality (The Peren in Hay-on-Wye) and we totally loved Rock Cottage and would gladly come again! _______________________________________________________________________ "A well equipt beautiful cottage" We had a lovely time at the cottage, very clean and well equiped. The owner of the cottage was very accomodating to all our needs. The cottage was down a quiet lane with views of the sea, it is in a good location ideal for exploring the island. A real home from home.
